I am pleased to share with you that the Governor has asked me to serve on the Commission for Disaster Recovery and Renewal which will be studying the recovery efforts after Hurricane Ike. Robert Eckels will be chairing the Commission. It will function much like the commission the Governor appointed after Hurricane Rita to study evacuation procedures. I will be keeping you informed of the Commission proceedings and encourage you to share any input you may have on this important topic.
