Bike Around the Bay II

The second annual Galveston Bay Foundation “Bike Around the Bay” has been scheduled for October 18-19. If you missed the inaugural event last year, you will want to get in on this unique ride this year. Last year, a little under 500 riders left Anahuac on Saturday morning and biked to Galveston’s Moody Gardens, riding the Bolivar Ferry and visiting the High Island Audubon Society rookery along the way. We had a great party and dinner at Palm Beach in Moody Gardens and then made the first ever bike ride crossing of Galveston Causeway on Sunday morning. The riders finished Sunday afternoon in Baytown after climbing the Fred Hartman Bridge.

After the ride we conducted an on-line survey. 282 riders responded. 281 said they will ride again this year!! Reviews of last year’s ride can be found at:

This ride is great fun and an opportunity to support GBF’s efforts to preserve our Bay. I hope you will be able to join us. You can register on-line at:

See you in October!!!
